I joined Mayor Bob Wells, CVRD Chair Will Cole-Hamilton & Councillor Jolicoeur for a fantastic tour of Courtenay! We discussed local priorities, from housing to infrastructure, to support their vibrant, sustainable community in the Comox Valley. Thank you for the warm welcome!

Lake Country is a happening place! It was great to spend the morning with Mayor Blair Ireland and see all the great work that him and his council are doing to meet the needs of the community and those looking to call Lake Country home.

Thrilled to attend the Keeping it Rural conference in #Kelowna! As Minister of State for Local Gov & Rural Communities, I’m continuously inspired by the work local leaders are doing to strengthen their communities. Together, we’re building a vibrant and sustainable future!

Always grateful to meet with my neighbours at the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary! I appreciated hearing about the work (and challenges!) that they’re undertaking and how we can better work together toward our common goals.

An incredible amount of work has gone into recovery & mitigation following the devastating floods in Grand Forks in 2018. The resilience of this community is remarkable & I’m proud of our government for stepping up and working hand in hand w/ Grand Forks to get where we are today

Greenwood might be the smallest city in Canada, but its charm is through the roof. I had a great meeting with the mayor, council and staff & appreciated the tour of the historic courthouse which served as the Supreme Court from 1902 to 1953. I encourage everyone to check it out!

It was a beautiful day to stop by the Village of Midway and visit with Mayor McMynn and councillors! It was also fitting to check out their new spray park that our government helped fund in 2023, given that it was 38 degrees out! ☀️

Always great hospitality in Osoyoos! The Town welcomes an estimated 300,000 visitors a year, with the average stay of over a week! It’s a true jewel of the Okanagan Valley. I really appreciated discussing their priorities and the opportunities for partnership with the Province.

No matter what Trump’s ambassador says, Canadians aren’t “mean and nasty” for choosing to buy Canadian and travel locally. We’re taking a stand against Trump’s threats to our sovereignty and standing on our own two feet. Let's hold the line.

Another great session at the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER) summit yesterday. I was very happy to host the conversation on continuing cross-border collaboration in an age of trade restrictions with a fantastic group of panelists! #PNWER2025

I popped over to North Van on the SeaBus today, or “The People’s Yacht” as Bowinn Ma calls it. I had a great visit with Mayor Buchanan who enlightened me of the rich history of the shipyards & the tremendous work the city has undertaken in transforming the waterfront. Thank you!

It was great to connect with Secretary of State Buckley Belanger to discuss rural development & our shared priorities for BC. We’re both committed to ensuring that rural people & rural communities are well-represented and have a strong voice within the federal and provincial govt

Just a couple features on my walking tour of ⁦Summerland⁩ with Mayor Doug Holmes: 60 affordable housing units under construction and new childcare spaces! 🏘️ I’m proud to be part of a government that makes these meaningful investments across BC.

Mayor Victor Cumming took myself and MLA Sandhu up Middleton Mountain for a beautiful panoramic view of Vernon, Coldstream & the surrounding area! Mayor Cumming is an encyclopedia of all things Vernon and his passion for his community is evident from the moment you meet him.

Spent a great afternoon touring around Coldstream with Mayor Hoyte and Councillor Garlick, along with my friend MLA Harwinder Sandhu. We made a stop at Maven Lane along the way, this centre supports 32 childcare spaces opened in partnership with our government!

Spearhead is an industry leader in advanced timber fabrication – creating beautiful, custom designed, value-added wood projects here in BC and across the world. I had the opportunity in the spring to meet the team and tour their site in Nelson.
