By working together, communities can be better prepared for emergencies and can more effectively co-ordinate response efforts. Together, working with First Nations and local governments, people and communities will be ready to face our collective climate-related emergencies.

Minister Bowinn Ma's new Emergency and Disaster Management Act places a greater emphasis on mitigating the impacts of emergencies before they happen. Our EMCR focus is on all four phases of emergency management - mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

Here in BC people have witnessed that our summers are getting hotter, our winters are becoming more unpredictable, & devastating flooding from atmospheric rivers has washed out homes, roads & the fields our farmers, ranchers and dairy producers depend on.

Literally no man performing the exact same job has ever been asked such stupid and reductive questions. This entire discourse is an insult to women and an insult to Bowinn Ma and her dedication to her work AND her family.

Delta Council only just endorsed a parental leave policy. We now have 3 parents with young children on council vs 0 five years ago.

If we want anyone under 40 in elected office then we need to support young parents in politics. The alternative is politics as a retirement gig.
