This morning, students at Columbia University picketed outside the homes of three trustees.

At two of the three locations, random harassers suckerpunched student picketers. At one, a car drove into a student. NYPD arrested the student, who’s now with EMS.

There are no universities left in Gaza since they were all bombed by genocidaires, killing faculty, students, staff. But the presidents still alive have issued this in support of students & faculty in solidarity encampments.

don’t really see anyone talking about this but: arrestees at CUNY were charged with *felonies* while arrestees at Columbia were charged with misdemeanors. nobody should be charged with anything but it is a travesty that poorer & racialized students bear the brunt of this struggle

It's not enough to 'support' the students. What do you feel moved to do? What do you feel inspired to do? This isn't about identifying a vanguard or fetishizing a demographic. This is about finding our place in an intergenerational moment of struggle to stop a genocide.

When I was reporting in Brownsville we heard regular rumors about workplace injuries but could never get the data. There was a vibe in the Valley that you’d get iced out of being able to speak to public officials if you looked into SpaceX, and we were all underresourced.

NOW: I'm at the Liberated Zone at UTD where students, some faculty, and local community members have joined the national movement of campus protests calling for universities to divest from companies with ties to Israel due to the occupation and war in Gaza.

Doesn’t seem like a total accident that the NYPD raids on students at Columbia and CCNY are happening at the same time that Rafah is under brutal siege

Incredible sights at UT Austin as the growing protest marches against retreating (and mace wielding) cops, to retake the south lawn they were forced from earlier. Protests will not stop until UT divests from all interests in Israel. Hartzell and Abbot can't intimidate us.

NOW: UT Austin students have reestablished an encampment on the campus’s South Lawn, renamed the Liberated Zone. Students have barricaded themselves and five or so tents in with tables and chairs. About a dozen campus police are present.

NOW: Protestors have dropped a Palestinian flag out of the window of the Washington Hilton, where the White House Correspondents' Dinner is being held tonight.
