I've found two common reader misconceptions I want to clarify:

1 - The water TX wants MX to release isn't in Reynosa, or just across the border, it's 450 miles away in La Boquilla, Chihuahua.

2 - Rainfall in the Valley doesn't matter. You need rainfall above the reservoirs.

Corpus Christi’s plan, presented to city council in 2019, said the first desalination plant needed to be running by early 2023 to meet scheduled industrial water demands.

But the city never got it done. Now it is running low on water.
