Harm reduction means prevention: solving problems before they become tragedy.

Reform isn’t one magic fix. It’s a system: prevention, oversight, transparency, and accountability — working together.

Militarized policing escalates encounters and increases harm.

Demilitarization is harm reduction. Demilitarization protects communities.

Militarized policing didn’t happen by accident — it was built over decades of policy and funding. Communities aren’t enemy territory. Safety should not require a battlefield mindset.

Ban overly aggressive tactics that escalate encounters and put innocent people at risk — like no-knock raids and stop-and-frisk.

If your “strategy” is escalation, it is completely predictable that it will end in harm.

Kids shouldn’t be policed like adults. Police contact can turn fear and confusion into “noncompliance,” escalation, and lifelong consequences. Support-first responses protect kids—and prevent harm.

“Support-first” means trained help before escalation: counselors, crisis teams, restorative practices, and family support. It’s prevention. Police contact should be the last resort with kids.

Support-first responses reduce harm and prevent escalation. Most youth situations can be addressed with de-escalation, counseling, and community support—not force and punishment.

When school discipline becomes policing, normal youth behavior can become citations, arrests, and court involvement. Kids need support systems in schools—not escalation-first responses.
