An image of the sun today, taken with a std DSLR on an 80mm refractor using a baader filter - processed slightly differently- Those sunspots are still 3,000 degrees and as big as the earth

You guys, I shot this last night on an iPhone 14 Pro 🤯 the level of dust detail is insane! And this is only a quick edit using the in built tools of the phone! Who said you need a DSLR to capture the Milky Way?!? Will be trying for more tonight!

BBC Sky at Night Magazine The Moon on Sunday 25th June 2023 at 21:05, taken using 8” Skywatcher Dobsonian and iPhone 13. If you closely at the terminator you can see an X and a V, these Clair Obscur effects are only visible when the Moon is at First Quarter.

If it’s clear tonight, take a look at the Moon! It’s a supermoon, so it’s brighter than usual ☺️ if you can’t catch this one, no worries - there’s another at the end of the month, a rare blue supermoon!

First light from the Loony Luna Observatory. A big cosmic shockwave, the Western Veil Nebula. A supernova remnant in the constellation of Cygnus. I’m so happy! And now I need a rest ☺️😴#astronomy #Astrophotography

Congrats to Cwm Elan Valley on their 10th year as an #internationaldarkskypark. It was lovely to spend time with you and other astro friends yesterday. Also to see the Alyn Wallace 🌌 art installation for the first time was special.
