As a queer woman living in Scotland, the fear I felt as I heard the first preference results was like nothing I've felt before. Even despite this more positive result, the harm Forbes and Regan have done to LGBT+ rights during this campaign cannot be forgiven.

The Tories stuffed the EHRC with right-wing appointees, and now the EHRC is proposing stripping legal protections from trans people. Just as the Tories targeted gay people for cynical partisan ends in the 1980s, so today they're gunning for trans people.
