We just had a virtual #pint20AT group meeting and will be able to give you an update about the #Vienna festival this weekend! Of course, some pints were also involved, we are called "Pint of Science" for a reason! 🍻 #CouchOfScience20 Pint of Science World #Homeoffice #pint20 #StayAtHome

I am happy to announce that our beast of a review paper (34 pages!) entitled “Scorpion venom: Detriments and benefits” is finally published in Biomedicines! mdpi.com/2227-9059/8/5/… Thanks to all co-authors, especially first author Shirin Ahmadi DTU Bioengineering DTU Bioengineering

My ❤️shaped spider🕷️ toxin that spells "LOVE"... This structure, along with 4 of my others are part of this uber cool structural venomic project with Sandy Pineda, Eivind Undheim, Mobli Lab and Glenn King. So happy to see it finally published in PNAS! pnas.org/content/early/…

I am appalled that Angewandte Chemie would publish such a racist, sexist, and anti-diversity article. The scientific community needs to step up and shape the future of the field by stamping out intolerance toward the very diversity that helps our science flourish.

Exciting work from Franciele Esteves, who just completed a one-year internship in Glenn King, showing that the droplets on the webs of #GoldenOrbWeavers (#Nephila species) are spiked with insecticidal toxins to facilitate prey capture! bit.ly/2ZLSBdZ

Honoured to have won a poster prize at the #ECBS2021 It was a fantastic symposium! Thanks to the organizers for the chance to present, and to the participants for the interest! #medchem #chembio EU-OPENSCREEN ERIC

Our in situ #CryoET, #CryoEM work on #nebulin, #actin, and #myosin is out at Science Magazine. Thanks to #teamtomo MPI Dortmund: Zhexin (Eric) Wang, @mcgrange, Thorsten Wagner & Sabrina Max Planck Society in collab with the Gautel lab King's College London: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

1/3 We have finally solved the mystery of Tc toxin secretion in the Stefan Raunser lab at MPI Dortmund! A few differentiated "soldier" cells per bacterial population produce these remarkable, ribosome-sized killer #nanomachines - and release them by exploding! National Association of Science Writers (NASW) ABSW

We’re happy to share our #CryoET work of native #muscle in the #mavacamten relaxed state with thin #actin & thick #myosin, #titin, #MyBPC filament. Thanks to #teamtomo MPI Dortmund, esp Davide Tamborrini Max Planck Society in collab with Gautel lab King's College London biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Great #Campuslauf TU Dortmund ! We had lots of fun! And congrats to Alicia Peschel Stefan Raunser lab who ranked 5th in the women's category! #running

📢Are you eager to join an international community of scientists to tackle novel and exciting research projects in the areas of #biochemistry, #structuralbiology, #cellbiology, #chemicalbiology and #syntheticbiology? Applications for the IMPRS for Living Matter #PhDprogram are now OPEN!!!
