I am a postdoc in Alexander Suh 서상재’s lab and today will present my and Simone Fouché’s efforts towards a zebra finch pangenome. The most recent genome assembly of this songbird by Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP) has a high-quality sequence of all autosomes and the Z and W sex chr. #pgg55 #pggflash
A short thread on disentangling cobionts and contamination in Darwin Tree of Life samples for #pgg55 #pggflash. This work is part of the @SangerToL Darwin Tree of Life projects (I usually work on molecular evolution 🦋, but this project was a great excuse to play with other models)
Happy to share that StainedGlass, our tool for visualization of massive tandem repeats, is now published in bioinformatics as an application note! Thanks to Peter Kerpedjiev, Adam Phillippy, EEE, and the T2T consortium! paper: doi.org/10.1093/bioinf… website: mrvollger.github.io/StainedGlass/
Hi all, excited to share this preprint, which builds upon Santiago Marco-Sola's excellent recent work on the WFA algorithm, which can optimally align long, similar sequences very quickly. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… 1/4
