Some people don't love you, they just want to stay connected to you. The love, the benefits... so they do the minimal... a little phone call here and there just checking about you. What they are doing is maintaining a connection, so when they need you... they still have a way in.

Yahoo Boy rehabilitation reminds me of pardoning terrorists. It won't work if it is not from true remorse. The damage they have caused also needs to be addressed. That the damage is being glossed over in favor of their “misfortune” is what irks me.

Emmett Shear Hey Emmett, the debate isn't about whether it is ethical to do Yahoo or not. Yahoo is criminal; everyone agrees on this. The debate is whether it is appropriate for an NGO to channel their resources to "rehabilitate" at-risk kids (ages 14-18) with new skills for a better life.

This is a prime example of why this shouldn't even be a conversation in the first place. The stereotype is heavy on the 'Nigeria Scam' already, and the new stereotype is what the whole tech ecosystem will be fighting against in the next couple of years.
