If I was worried about people comparing me to 1930s Germany, my next move probably wouldn't be to shut down all criticism on the national broadcasting service

I just find the growing contempt for Drs so fascinating. We're expected to practice medicine perfectly, make no mistakes, forego healthy social lives, get paid smack bang average and be forever grateful for the privilege 🥰

Just to put things into perspective for a second. This government is currently objecting to raising a newly qualified doctors pay from £14 to £19 an hour

Matthew Evans (@neuro_matt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I find it amazing that MPs are able to say with a straight face that it’s unreasonable of doctors to have expected their salaries to keep up with living costs, when MP salaries have increased 28% since 2010. But Drs asking for a similar amount to restore pay are “unreasonable”.

If I spun data like this I'd be hauled in front of my supervisor and asked to write a reflection. For the UK government? No such problem.

Today it has been reported that during our first round of action in England mortality rate was 11.1% above the 5 year average. What they haven’t reported was that in Wales, where no strike action took place, mortality rate was 14% above the 5 year average. 1/3

Just in case you thought that it was industrial action by nurses & doctors that created waiting lists for hospital treatments, here's something from Financial Times

Monthly net salary 2005 DR - £2,168 MP - £2,293 2023 DR - £2,108 MP - £4,939 This is why I support the #DoctorsStrike And last year over 7,000 doctors left the UK for better paid jobs overseas. If you want to save the NHS, you too should support the strike.

I’ve said it before: Max Verstappen is incapable of racing fairly. Unwilling and incapable. Small amount of pressure applied to him in a racing situation and he falls to pieces - resorting to illegal tactics and crashing into people. Every single time.
