I miss the innocence of the early blogging days. No trying to monetize your audience. No algorithms. No funnel talk. It was fun and playful. People were genuinely excited to share their weird obsessions and interests. I will forever try to recreate that corner of the internet.

Today, I remembered a guy I knew in school who once said to me, "So, what, you're just gonna write books and make art for a living?" "Yeah," I said. "Whatever. Good luck with that." 20 years later, I write and make art for a living. Eat shit, Tyler.

Can we please fast forward to the time when we realise art is an essential part of a healthy society, and start actually supporting artists instead of trying to crush them? Please?

Back when Barnes & Noble still allowed booksellers to order from small presses, FACE THE NIGHT was on freakin' endcaps and tables. Miss those days... my book used to get to hang out with so many friends!

This is the niche'est of niche posts, so I don't expect it to "do numbers", but I just wanted to share some info on the technical (not creative, not subjective) quality of THE FORT, something I fought to maintain throughout the entire post-production pipeline*. This is the

If we offered a subscription for our entire 2025 catalog, including a few bonus items exclusive to subscribers, would you join? (I know, we've only announced 5 of the 12 titles so far, lots of announcements coming soon. But I promise, they're all really good.)

Interesting results from yesterday's blurb poll. Also, another publisher friend ran the same poll on tumblr and it seems twitter folks are a bit more susceptible to blurb marketing than tumblr folks are. As an industry, I hope we can move away from blurbs in the future. They ask

When's the last time you've seen a Blu-ray menu?! Here's the menu I made for THE FORT. No submenus, no fly-outs, just a nice clean list of all options for quick selection. I wanted to make it so easy my mom could watch it without calling me for tech support. 😂

You're an author, but what's your degree in? I dropped out before finishing college, but I was working on a degree in Graphic Communications. Though I only attended for 18 months (20 years ago), I've used that knowledge almost every day, on almost every project, since.
