This was the most important thing said at The Game Awards - a cheat code for success in the industry. I hope developers listen. The formula is not that hard.

🌿⚽ Just joined Zackavelli game jam: Forces of Nature! I’m working on a multiplayer football game where you play as druids using nature-based abilities to score goals! 🌳✨ Follow along as I bring this chaotic idea to life (with my amazing art skills 😅). 🎮 #GameDev

Ridge Racer 5 was a launch PS2 game that didn't even ship as a DVD but a CD, but the lack of space didn't stop them from delivering on some of the coolest Y2K UI ever made. Look at this main menu!

I've been listening to Zackavelli's Game Dev Field Guide Podcasts recently. Really cool stuff and worth a listen I especially liked 'Ep. 089 Genre Study: Idle Games' - hearing his thoughts on the balancing side of things was really interesting Zackavelli Thanks for taking

Once you get to intermediate / advanced level in game development you start to see how there's very little tutorials on these topics and the internet is littered with beginner tutorials all teaching pretty much the same thing.

Speaking generally across any industry here but the way people are pitching their courses these days feels so pyramid schemey. Really need to consider who has genuine intentions of helping people

Basketo There's actually nothing wrong with placeholder graphics as long as you are fine switching between coding and drawing. I do like "art-first" game dev strategy, which i learned about in Zackavelli 's gamedev podcast btw, bcoz visuals give more creativity when u write code, imo

make small games. if you don't have the skills to hack out a polished Pong clone in a weekend, your 6-year dream game project is in serious trouble

Been studying 3rd person camera and discovered a neat trick from Zelda Walls blocking camera is commonly solved by moving the viewpoint closer. However when the wall is moved away, Link's camera doesn't immediately jump to its original 3rd person position, instead only slowly
