New statistics released today have confirmed this: ⬆️ a 17% rise in the number of people on Universal Credit since Labour took office. ⬆️ Benefits now going to over 1 million immigrants, most of whom are out of work. That needs to change.

I have always opposed the hotel in Cheshunt being used to house illegal asylum seekers, and yesterday I again asked the Government when they will close it. People are fed up with their concerns about immigration being ignored - the Government needs to start listening.

I fully support Broxbourne Council's decision to explore legal action to close the asylum hotel in Cheshunt. I will continue to do everything I can in Parliament to secure the closure of this hotel and return it to our community.
