It's depressing but women and girls need health care, housing, education, all that the Tories are destroying. Let's vote Labour, and then we can talk about penises. The Tories would be all for women with penises if they thought it would appeal to their supporters.

Am I the only one to wonder if the sudden announcement of a general election has something to do with distracting from and avoiding taking responsibility for the infected blood scandal? It sure knocked it off the headlines.

Pope Francis's magnificent vision is undermined by everything he says about women. How can a man with such a radical vision of faith as a risk-taking adventure to the far horizons, and with such a commitment to dialogue, be so stubbornly ill-informed in his attitude to women?

The point they're missing is that 'equal' does not mean 'the same'. Men, trans women and women should be equal under the law, but that doesn't mean treating us all the same.

Why would a rape crisis centre prioritise men's gender identities over raped women's trauma? Why would a biological male even apply to work there? This is why some gender theorists like me have become gender critical feminists. Women and children first.

If there were more voices like Dr María Inés de la Cruz willing to speak out, how much more constructive our dialogue could be about rights and boundaries. There must be more trans persons out there who understand the issues and concerns. Why are they so silent?
