A child has to go through active shooter drills in preschool. It keeps going on that way until eventually they become aware enough to watch the news and recognize why. Then they become politically aware and see little hope their politicians are going to solve it. Understandable.

i grew up with idea that police are supposed to deescalate situations. Today there are way too many incidents of police escalating situations. The protest in Austin yesterday is a perfect example of that. We need to completely reevaluate police training and recruitment.
