I am usually a big NRC defender but this is terrible science communications. The fact that an NRC video doesn’t mention that no one was hurt or injured at TMI or that the maximum dose of radiation to the public was less than a tenth of a CT scan is pretty irresponsible.

The thing to remember here is that environmentalism is not about reducing tons of carbon in the Earth's atmosphere, it's about abolishing industrial consumerism to usher in a pastoral utopia within pseudoscientific earth-systems boundaries.

Many of the largest, wealthiest “environmental” groups care more about closing nuclear plants than they do about reducing emissions.

They scream “climate crisis!” as they petition against carbon-free power plants.
