Today we have made Royal Navy history as 4 P2000s HMS Archer HMS Puncher HMS Pursuer and HMS Smiter crossed into the Arctic Circle for the first time.
We continue north to exercise with Norwegian Armed Forces | Forsvaret, The Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) and NATO Maritime Command partners. #strongertogether

#OnThisDay 1850 @royalnavy approved a contract for a new black cap for its sailors, this would be the first version to normally display the ship's name by way of a cap tally. The shape is the basis of todays version however it has been a white cap since the 1950's
