Key concern from our study on Pacific infant care practices using Growing Up in NZ data: the health system neglects to connect with families who are not the dominant language/culture group. And so the injustices continue, and more of our little ones are at risk than need to be.

What is this world? Humanity at its finest. Leaving crew stranded on the ship after Baltimore accident for two months due to “visa issues”. Nice one. bbc.com/news/world-us-…

I have had many people ask me lately how my studies are going. I finished my PhD in 2018 but there seems to be an assumption I couldn’t possibly be working for the uni, I must still be studying. What is it about me and my profile that makes people think I’m still a student? 🤔

But ⁦does this church have a child protection policy? Nothing reported by journalists on it and nothing stated by the church. Having a CPP is an essential safeguard for children. Please use this story to raise awareness on this. nzherald.co.nz/nz/brian-tamak…

Why the focus from 200m being on Noah Lyles (USA) rather than the winner Letsile Tebogo (Botswana)? - first African male to win gold in 200m - first ever gold for Botswana - third ever medal for Botswana All after losing his mum this year. Remarkable. bbc.com/sport/olympics…

Hamish Kerr with a gold in high jump!!! 🇳🇿🥇. I’m not sure people realise how huge this is for New Zealand athletics. Our Kiwi athletes in this sport have to travel so far literally and figuratively to even be there. Congrats Hamish!

I love how our athletes from NZ winning gold have been singing the national anthem in Te Reo not English on the podium. It’s an encouraging statement to say where we are is embedded and we will not be turning back.
