We can argue about the austerity. On the substantive points I would sadly concur. Too often Council(s)lors chase vanity projects in pursuit of being ‘world class’ or other such guff. People want safe and clear streets and a focus on the fundamentals.

Congratulations to ⁦Simon Harris TD⁩ on the day he becomes Taoiseach. Relations between the UK and Ireland are important. Simon can bring sincerity and warmth to our partnership and calm a fractiousness caused by posturing from people here and in Ireland. I wish him well.

11 years since we lost the most successful and consequential PM since 1945. As her period slips into history the work of the Margaret Thatcher Centre will inspire future generations with her example of principle, modernity, and tactical pragmatism. Needed more than ever now.

Ended the week in London with a catch up with Hannah Young . Our teams around the 🇺🇸 support 🇬🇧 trade and investment as I saw on the ground in UK in Texas and UK Consulate in SF in January.

It doesn’t seem to matter who runs the Council. The car user is always - to mix metaphors - the sitting duck being fleeced for cash. This is bad especially for town centre businesses.
