kaz takes no steps forward and no steps back, facing them down with a statuesque strength. he looks her in the eyes, trapped behind his sunglasses. he still doesn't speak - not yet - curious as to what she'll do next.

Trust me. Boss and Quiet might be good competition, but they didn't call me a womanizer back in the day for nothing. I think I've still got at least a little bit of that in me.

( standing up a little straighter. ) Okay, okay. They belong to a past version of me, regardless. But I WILL win.

I don't need luck. But--I'll take it regardless.

oh no--not here. please, not here-- kaz immediately turns his back to run, relying on his cane to carry him.

And you know I've never been one to bank on luck. Too methodical for that.

The moment he hears his name he stops, turning around to look at him again. His lip trembles, eyes laser-focused behind his sunglasses. "B-Boss?"

of course, Kaz isn't just anyone. he's the most driven member of the diamond dogs. the most passionate and rage-filled. the most desperate for revenge. and if Quiet is on their side? they are most certainly worthy of respect.

"Boss!" Kaz rushed to his side, kneeling down beside him and wrapping his arm around him. "What's wrong? Boss?"

"Voices?" He's never heard the Boss say anything about voices before... that's concerning. "You've been taken by the Entity--we're in hell, boss."

"There's no telling what it'll do to you if you don't try... Dammit all to hell!" Kaz pulls himself upright, looking at Venom bent over on the ground. "Fight it, Boss--I know we can fight it."

Stumbling back, Kaz barely catches himself in a desperate attempt to back away. He's never seen Venom like this--the Boss he'd worked with for so long... "Keep fighting, Boss--!" But even as Kaz shouted, he continued to back away.

If anything, he should be scared. Kaz never comes to visit unless something’s wrong— After all, why would he want to see someone he despises? “As much as I loathe it, I need your help with something.”
