Today, we remember and honor the 2,403 Americans who were killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, which led to the United States declaring war on Japan the next day and thus entering World War II.

A handful of centenarian survivors gathered in Hawaii to commemorate those killed 81 years ago in the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Veterans Affairs Dept. doesn't have stats for how many survivors are still living. But its data show the number of WWII vets is rapidly declining.
