Cronenberg’s “The Fly.” Totally serious. Respect it so much & can’t bear to watch it. Cronenberg rewatched to do a commentary track & even he was surprised at how “disturbing” he found it. Takes no prisoners & doesn’t water down its tragedy/bleakness, right down to final shot.
