Three suggestions for getting promoted: 1. Have a lot of positive, measurable, growing impact. 2. Drive that impact in a way that's consistent with your company culture, values, competencies. 3. Have a lot of peers, sr leads, milestones, artifacts corroborate # 1-2.

Any failure after you've tried your best is fine. You can't control all the variables in life. Regret after a failure when you didn't give it your best is far worse.

If you're over extended and it's affecting the quality of your work. It's your responsibility to escalate and cut scope. Trying to be a hero and doing lots of things 66% is not good for you (from a sustainability, quality, and impact pov) and often the organization.

The best thing you can do for your sleep in 2022 is implement a "screens off" time at 10pm or earlier. You'll probably get an extra 20% sleep because of it and will wake up more energized and clear headed.
