This rather sums up the culture shift that has gone on over recent decades. I remember from early childhood gardens full of birds, frogs & insects, but many of which are now largely barren. Efforts to change global trends might best start on our literal doorsteps.

There's lots to love about the Netherlands, but look at this. Instead of knocking this old building down a water company turned it into a bat a bird nesting habitat. I won't even mention the cycling infrastructure, suffice to say it's remarkable. 34000kms of cycle paths.
