This is a complete mess. The government is promising new changes, new concessions, 90 minutes before MPs vote. None of this is written down. The Bill we are voting on tonight is unamended. This is an unacceptable way of making laws. Just pull the Bill.

Don’t forget, Anas Sarwar has repeatedly defended the very disability cuts that Keir Starmer is now rowing back on. A follower, not a leader.

“You stopped us harming people with disabilities, so we’ll hurt children” is not a line that shows any learning from the debacle.

Like almost all MPs I don’t know why the Chancellor was upset in the Chamber today, but I do hope she is okay and back to her duties this afternoon. Seeing another person in distress is always very difficult, and we are wishing her well.
