This is a preposterous suggestion. Reform’s Leader of Warwickshire Council wants to make children as young as eight walk up to five miles to school. I’m a Governor at a specialist school in my ward and know that this would deter children with SEND from coming to school at all.

86 Councillors have defected from the Tories to Reform. All Reform MPs are former Tory members. The Reform Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire is a former Tory MP. Don’t be fooled.

🌈 Delighted to join young people, parents and the Lord Mayor at the opening of Rainbow House at Stanningley Primary School. We’re grateful to the government for working with the school and Leeds City Council to secure the funding for the renovations for this fantastic space.

🇬🇧 Ahead of Remembrance, I was pleased to arrange a meeting between Rachel Reeves and Veterans organisations - Walking With The Wounded, SSAFA and VINT. We also sold poppies to local residents at Bramley Shopping Centre. Huge thanks to RBL volunteers for joining us.

This morning, I laid a wreath on behalf of Leeds City Council at Victoria Gardens to mark Armistice Day. I’m grateful to everyone who attended a Remembrance service today and over the weekend. It’s vital that continue to honour those who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.

Fantastic to be at Bramley Moorfields Market which is thriving with small businesses. It was great to see local residents supporting the businesses and enjoying the food and live music. I also bagged myself a stunning lamb joint for Sunday dinner 😋
