Mets miss on Tucker, pivot to Bellinger for a bidding war with the Blue Jays and Yankees and get embarrassed again in 2 weeks time Remind me again why we didn’t need to re-sign Pete?

One thing we should take away from all this Dodgers nonsense: players signing with them at this point are heartless, spineless and cowards who aren’t self confident in their abilities to baseball or lead. It’s no longer about the love of the game.

Interesting how many major problems in America can be attributed to boomers: - unsustainable social security (for boomers) - unsustainable Medicare (for boomers) - house prices are not allowed to go down (for boomers) - stock market cannot fall (for boomers) - government

The Mets own the 2nd highest payroll in baseball. For the last 2 years, they - by far - have the widest gap of payroll VS how good the team actually is. Stupid moves by Stearns that have contributed to dead money on high risk and players that don’t fit: 1. Signing Franky

Years from now, people will study this Mets team, how it was constructed, who constructed it, and the results. It will usher in a new, golden age of practical and intelligent roster building that doesn't rely on a fucking nerd and computers.

Imagine breaking a closer with a postseason HR, watching him unravel on the Yankees, then choosing him over the best closer in baseball… while also shipping out the homegrown player who broke him. You can't make this kind of misery up #LGM

When the Mets let Alonso walk and traded Nimmo, they lost players who: 1. were key to their offense 2. played in 162 and 155 games, respectively, in '25 3. could handle NY pressure 4. were home-grown fan favorites They were not effectively replaced.

To be fair to David stearns. Why sign Pete Alonso, whose contract may stink in 4 years when you can sign guys who stink right away.

Just read the Jon Heyman article on David Stearns & Pete Alonso… Pete said everything we’ve been thinking, right to that smug face. 🔥 #LGM  #FireStearns

Mets not keeping Pete Alonso never made sense. It was obvious he still had at least 3 more good years in the tank. If that meant dealing with 2 bad years then so be it. You don’t let a franchise cornerstone leave when the contract he ended up getting didn’t exactly break the bank
