Wind Advisory is in effect from late this evening through early Saturday morning. The main areas impacted by the strongest winds will be west of the Chautauqua Ridge along the NYS Thruway and Lake Erie shoreline where southerly wind gusts could reach 45 to 50 mph at times.

UPDATED INFORMATION JUST IN. Route 5 West has one lane open from Sturgeon Point to North Main. Both East lanes are open Route 5 from North Main St to Gold Street remains closed. Bennett, North Main and Walkers is open. Tractor trailers should use different routes.

As you’re waking up this morning, Town of Evans Police Department and multiple fire companies within the town are out with trees and wires down. Please use caution if you have to be on the road this morning. Roads are slick and Town of Evans Highway Dept. is out tending to roads.

Old Man Winter is choosing violence. Another 6 water main breaks occurred overnight. ECWA is aware and actively working on repairs. We and Town of Evans Police have no further information at this time. For updates or questions, please contact ECWA directly at 716-849-8444.
