The latest Region 28 saga - Lockland, Cedarville, and New Miami have all declined 16 seed playoff spots, therefore Ft. Recovery is next up and has officially accepted to play Marion Local in round one.

The MAC is saddened to learn of the passing of former Coldwater boys’ basketball coach Jim Niekamp. At Coldwater from 1981-1997, he finished 246-144 overall and was a 5-time MAC Coach of the Year. He also coached JV at St. Henry 1974-1980 and finished 113-24 overall.

In honor, of the passing of former Coldwater boy’s basketball head coach Jim Niekamp, we look at one of the biggest “Cinderella’s” of all-time (1993 Coldwater). Niekamp’s team entered the tourney at (4-16) and riding a 9-game losing streak. The schedule was daunting…

My dad and all of my uncles on both sides of my family played for him. His last year was my senior year of HS. RIP
