LAB CREW feeds and maintains life support systems daily at the Station and the Newport Aquarium, and monitors the river for HABs and VOCs. Lab-based independent studies include mussel fish-host ID, and fathead minnow breeding experiments and invert toxicity tests with the U.S. EPA.

USEPA RESEARCH at the BIOSTATION: Today, the Thomas More University invertebrate zoology class conducted a research project with the EPA to refine aquatic biology sampling protocols by sorting macroinvertebrates from a variety of artificial-substrate samplers in the River.
