Mapping changes in temperature: every year from 1850 to 2022

The 2nd day of #ASLO2023 started with some modelling! Our colleague Marcel Montanyès gave us a brilliant talk about the assembly rules shaping fish communities in the North Sea, which they observed using a joint species distribution modelling approach 🐟💻

Go and check @LouiseFlensborg poster this afternoon as well! She will talk about how the spatial scale defines the stability of fish communities in the North Sea 🙌, in collaboration with other colleagues Ocean Life: Marcel Montanyès, Toni Vivó, Fernanda Silva and Martin Lindegren

The afternoon started with Thanos Kandylas's talk about several interesting global features of copepods derived from the NUM model, developed in our centre. All these outputs could be interesting in further research addressing global patterns or trends in biodiversity! #ASLO23

To continue Ocean Life contributions at #ASLO23 we had a great talk by @fryderheim showing how chain-forming diatoms can sense and respond to chemical cues from micrograzers, causing them to activate different defense mechanisms! 🙌

Yesterday our PhD's @LouiseFlensborg and @ampapmer had a bunch of nice conversations during the poster session!! It was great to see that many people were interested in the research about stability of fish communities 🐟📈and the NUM model 💻🧮 done at the centre 🙌

During the last poster session at #ASLO23 our team members Toni Vivó and falciani.txt had an entertaining time chatting about their research related with invasive and trait-based ecology coupled with the potential effects of O2 depletion on fish methabolism! 🙌
