It’s not been a good time around here. Our youngest is still improving, but even though she came home from the hospital Thursday, she lost her cat, Milo. She raised him from birth, so he meant a lot to her. So, if you’re willing, please say a prayer for her broken heart.

Must be my turn to be in the hospital. Went to the ER, for elevated pulse rate, severe neck and chest pain. EKG was abnormal, and heart enzymes were extremely elevated. Looking at a heart catheter exam now? Praying that it’s nothing serious.

I had a mild heart attack, but I’m okay. I am most likely looking at open heart surgery tomorrow. Please pray that if I do the surgery, that everything will go as it’s supposed to go. Pray for my loved ones.

I am alive, but not in one piece. A cracked sternum is better than the alternative. Thank you to everyone for the thoughts and prayers for me and my family. It’s not going to be a quick recovery, but slow and steady sounds goood too, as long as I recover and heal.

Well, this has been a short, high-speed, and intense journey over the last week. Went from feeling bad, to finding out I had a heart attack, to finding out I had to have quadruple bypass surgery. Well, they just pulled out the last chest tube. On track to go home tomorrow.

They are telling me, as of today, barring anything emergent or serious, I should be able to escape from the big house sometime this afternoon. With the scarring, it means no more bikini or wet T-shirt contests anymore. So, here’s to Day One of the rest of my life.

I hit a personal best today. 48 years of being alive, even with the speed bump in November. Here’s to another year of adulting.

Thanks to everyone who made getting older a little less painful yesterday.

Update: Had chest pains on Monday, went to ER, got sent to heart hospital. Cath and tests show it wasn’t another M.I. Think it was vasospasm, aka cramp in blood vessel. Hopefully, I can escape soon.
