As a leader, if your motivation is driven by a desire to be appreciated, your joy and fulfillment is in the hands of others. If your motivation is for those that report to you to feel appreciated, you directly control the joy you have in leadership.

Go out of your way to be kind to someone today. Take 30 seconds to send an encouraging text to someone today. Not every day has to be about us and our needs, be intentional about being kind to others.

Men, don’t be afraid to discuss with your sons what God has created. Conversations can be uncomfortable, but if we don’t talk to them about it someone else will. Set aside times, be focused, plan, organize, make these times something special.

Preachers, let it not be said about us that we sacrificed God’s Word on the alter of alliteration.

Pride is the seed the destroys men and ministries from within. Watered by gossip, criticism, and bitterness, pride will consume and dictate our thoughts, actions, and spirit.

In ministry, the closer you are to someone, the harder it is when you/they leave. We must remember the our calling is to serve Him, and that co-laborers will come and go according to His timing. (1/2)

Focus on the good times, not allowing yourself to become bitter. Not doing so will create a critical spirit which often leads gossip and slander. When we don’t accept a change in personnel graciously, we are telling God we don’t accept His sovereignty (2/2)

Recently heard Brant Hansen speak, and picked up this book. My son (16) and I read a chapter a week, and meet Friday mornings to discuss and review what we read. Highly recommend to any father, or ministry leader that works with young men.
