The town of Hay-on-Wye in Wales is completely dedicated to books and has 26 bookshops but only 2000 residents. That’s one bookshop per 77 people. [📹 happyenchantedhome]

What do Mormons really believe? Go to your App Store, Google or Apple, and look for the LDS Gospel Library. You will find EVERYTHING there. All of it. All our Scriptures, our Lessons, our Magazines, Study Guides... Everything.

I'm so tired of posts that are technically correct, but obfuscate. Brass. It's brass. Orichalcum means mountain copper. The romans translittered it as "aurichalcum", gold copper. In modern English, it's called brass.

I’m obsessed with the Curling drama. What do you mean the Canadians are such consistent and known cheaters that the Swedes were willing to set up a sting operation to catch them in the act which they knew would happen because, again, they keep cheating in the same way every time.

What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it!

Criminality is not random Only 0.2% of people ever commit murder, yet 67% of **all murders**are committed by people with prior arrests People inclined to commit crime will continue to, unless stopped. When those people are stopped, the crime stops.

Today in sacrament meeting we heard a talk on agency and divine identity. The speaker is an adult convert in his 30s. A cyclist. He used a cycling analogy in his talk. LoToJa is a 200-mile bike race from Logan to Jackson Hole. In 2022 he raced as part of a relay team. But what

Poking Grok to get some mall concepts together for the Ghosties Never Die game. I think I'll need to give it something of a layout sketch, but these are still interesting.

Unrealized gains tax for Gen-Z: You buy a Pokémon card for $50. Someone offers you $500 for it. You say no. You love that card. You're keeping it. The government says: "Cool, but that card is worth $500 now. You owe us $100 in taxes." You: "…I didn't sell it." Government:

Here’s a close crop of the 320 megapixel photo I’m revealing to my email subscribers on Wednesday… a massive panorama of one of the most iconic sights in the night sky. Probably a little hard to believe, but I didn’t need a telescope to get these shots. More details to come :)

I am SO incredibly old I can remember having discussions at MicroProse Software, id Software, and Ensemble Studios about how to make our games appeal MORE to the players. Man we were so naive. I guess pissing off players is a lot smarter, no?

Rewatched My Neighbor Totoro, wishing we had more things like it. As I get older, I find it edging out other Ghibli films for status as my favorite. It ages well, probably because it's so pastoral: like a Japanese Anne of Green Gables, but with animism. Some random thoughts: -
