second garmin edge 705 failure - this time the switch buttons no longer work. garmin no longer services them. nuts.

OK - Coming back to Africa. South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zambia. Canada was nice and all to visit, but need to be back home

Bike repair fail. Came back with the new parts. Turns out it's worse than I thought after taking it apart. Stripped bolts. Jammed gears.

Will suck it up and jus have the dealer fix it in JNB. Eager to get going again and actually shift. Will need it for Lesotho.

OK! Thanks to Bruce Cycles In Pretoria I've now got shifting again and also a bit of other maintenence done to ensure success on the road!

Oof. Yesterday was so hot for my pale white skin It started bubbling!

Heading south towards Lesotho. Poor shoulders on roads with 25km/45kmh gust croaswinds making for a real white knuckle ride.

I say taking 8 hours to ride 60km on poor railroaded dirt track is ebough to warrant a guesthouse for the night. No water in town though.

Pretty wild hills the past two days combined with crosswinds. Now in Ladybrand, can see Lesotho in distance. Tomorrow. Beer today.

New country for 2015, Lesotho! Resting for 6 or 7 days before the mountains.

Ready for my next phase - up to the Sani Pass in Lesotho. Elevation Charts look downright silly. Will try fo 5 days.

45km in one day and I'm wiped. Not sure I'm built for this nonsense anymore.

Turning around today back to where I started from. In true Forrest Gump style - "I think I'm ready to go home now"

Times I've had things stolen on the bike 0. Times I've been robbed /pickpocketed / stolen from off 6. Who says touring isn't safe?

Malawi Visa used to be free for my CDN Passport. Now raised to $75. Ouch (when every surrounding is $50). Still going in April. Great place.
