Marking Remembrance Day in Bungendore and at the Queanbeyan Memorial Rose Garden, opened by Mayoress NicholeOverall MLC in 2015.

An honour to participate in QPRC Years of Service awards. Congratulations to all recipients. I was also pleased to be presented with an award for 17yrs of service to Local Govt & community & I thank Council’s many dedicated staff for their generous words & well wishes.

My 90-year old Grandma (with me at my Grad Ball) is still out on her farm on the Murrumbidgee, Hay Plain - where she & my Pop, before he passed away, have been most of my life. A shout-out on National Ag Day to her & all farmers for the amazing, often unacknowledged work they do!

Yesterday we officially opened the Peter Bray Walk in honour of former QPRC Councillor, long-serving Deputy Mayor, Brigadier & my close friend who last year sadly passed away from cancer. A most suitable, long-lasting tribute to a man devoted to his family & community.

And as they say, that’s a wrap Thanks for the memories Queanbeyan Palerang.

I’ve had a few thinking I was going for Council on Sat but I’m actually running for Monaro in the upcoming NSW by-election. It’s a big challenge but I’m keen to give it all I’ve got. I’m also chuffed that Queanbeyan Champion & Canberra Raiders Coach Ricky Stuart is a supporter.

Last night NicholeOverall MLC & I attended the launch of award-winning film “A Community Under Fire”, an amazing, moving documentation of the harrowing bushfires that impacted our region 2 years ago. Well done to Matt Thane & all involved in this inspiring project. QPRC
