#ROADCLOSURE | Union Road Bridge in New Mills has been closed after several sinkholes appeared this morning. The road is unsafe for vehicles or pedestrians to use and will shut until further notice. A footpath under the bridge, which crosses the River Goyt, will also be closed.

Last May, we revealed that Sacha Lord's company, Primary Event Solutions, was granted £400k off the back of a misleading funding application in 2021. Last night, Lord resigned as Andy Burnham's night time economy advisor, and today the Arts Council asked for the money back.
