His hand brushed Dempsey's arm gently, fingers running along his skin comfortingly as he leant back into the embrace. "Hello, mein schatz. Ich bin... looking at some test results on an experiment I'm running. The results just came in."

"It's alright. I'm just relieved you're okay. You seem to have recovered quite well." He reached for a menu, eyes finding Dempsey for a moment. "The shard worried me." He wasn't very good at admitting he cared, or that he even had fucking emotions. He was trying right now.
