Gravel bikes still remain up there with the dumbest bike you could buy. Use a hard tail MTB with skinnier tyres on rough gravel. Use an accommodating road bike with wide tyres on smooth gravel. Gravel bikes are just a super heavy and clunky road bike or a super uncomfortable
