Two weeks ago, we learned about the Obersalzberg from the warmth of my classroom at Radley College. Two days ago, we were standing there. Our A-Level History trip to Bavaria was a brilliant opportunity to jump into the history we study. Check out the full thread to see more! 👇
A crew that loves and trusts each other can do anything, and the years of committing to the training together brought back the unmistakable racing rhythm of Caius Women. SO great to reunite with the gang for the Gonville & Caius College alumni weekend, and to win @PemRegatta! 🏆🥇🕊️

'On Tyranny' by Timothy Snyder changed my life when I read it as a History graduate student. I've since read and discussed it each year with my own students. It awakens you and stirs you into action. What's the use of studying History? This.👇
I'm massively proud of our Radley College debating team for winning The English-Speaking Union Schools Mace national grand championship two years in a row! It's been a fun, transformational journey building a culture of debating at Radley, and so fulfilling to see the boys achieve such heights.
After first crossing paths with Leigh Turner Author while he was still ambassador in Vienna (UK in Austria) and I was writing about his predecessor in the 1930s for my PhD, it was so good to hear him share his career and thoughts on Europe with our students last night. Thanks, Leigh!
It's exciting being back on the conference circuit for Schools of Empire Project with Radley College Archives for our paper on 'Radley College and the World: Global Echoes at a British Public School' at @IHR_History on Friday! Workshop programme 👇 schoolsofempireproject.org/workshop
Really looking forward to this! Katja Hoyer’s Blood and Iron & Beyond the Wall were not only lucidly-written books, but phenomenal introductions to modern German history for A-Level students. Great to see the 1871-1990 timeline filling out more with Weimar!
On Thursday, I'm speaking with Robert Lackner from the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute on Consequences of War (Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft) about his work on Austrian Refugees in the British Army during the Nazi regime at ACF London. Read more and register 👇 acflondon.org/events/talk-au…

After Robert Lackner's fascinating talk on 'Austrian Refugees in the British Army' at the ACF London, it was excellent to be in conversation with him about his research project and the complexities of wartime British-Austrian relations.
