I'm loving Roy Terry's book "Light Through a Rusty Roof." Some good lines like "Jesus isn't our token to maintain our own personal comfort." Roy Terry

As we celebrate God’s mercy to the Gentiles (Epiphany), I’ve written a piece about an epiphany that a beloved mentor of mine, John Alexander, had. His insight into the difference between love and admiration was a revelation to me. christiansforsocialaction.org/resource/the-e…

The light by which we see the world is not something we produce; the light enters us through the glow of God’s love, and then we radiate that light onto the world. comment.org/the-feminine-w…

53 years ago today, the last U.S. combat troops left South Vietnam, ending America’s direct role in the Vietnam War. I remember seeing this anti-war PSA back then. Its message is sadly still very relevant today as Trump drags us into another unpopular war.

"In some cases, it would be better for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality." In other words, exactly what Pope Leo is doing: speaking out on matters of morality, like war and peace, and care for the poor, the hungry and the migrant. These are fundamentally moral matters.
