The staggering deterioration of the human rights situation of women & girls in #Afghanistan since August 2021 requires the urgent attention of UN Human Rights Council. That’s why today we 🇪🇺sent a request to Federico Villegas to hold an Urgent Debate on 1 July.

At an urgent debate at the Human Rights Council, Richard Bennett, UN Special Rapporteur Richard Bennett, said the human rights situation for women and girls in #Afghanistan is devastating for the country. It deserves "maximum attention and decisive action," he said.
