I remember when I got stuck in a ticket barrier with my bouquet of flowers, and you freed
me, taking all of my bags and my flowers, I said thank you and you said to me, “I’ll hold anything
you need me to hold.”

We would talk until the sun came up on the phone, and when I walked into your family home today, I knew the layout already, because that is where we would have our calls, while you shared recipes with me, while we watched arthouse films together, while we
fell asleep in tandem.

Nobody deserves to go missing in a society with all the resources to
find our loved ones, yet you have been without us for so long. Society is unequal, including when it comes to missing Black people. 14% of missing people in England & Wales are Black, 4x the relative population
