We are not called to protect our institutions, nor do we protect the God of truth by covering up sin and/or a crime. To do so is to “protect” a cancer – and cancer kills. We honor God by caring for the wounded and by dragging sin to the light and calling it by its right name.

If you’re drunk and need to get home, CALL A FUCKING UBER. Two kids are growing up without a dad, parents have lost two sons, & a sister now has to grieve the loss of her two brothers on her wedding day all because somebody decided to get behind the wheel drunk in 2024. Senseless

I’m sure God would be quite pleased for a woman like my mom to be guilted by statements like these into staying in a truly abusive situation. I’m also gonna go ahead and guess that when God told men to honor their wives that domestic violence was not what he had in mind.

A significant issue within the Church regarding abuse is that its theology often suggests that all sins are equal, which can lead to minimizing abuse and offering "cheap grace" to perpetrators.

These are the stories we hear so many times in conversations with survivors via our podcast-and it begs the question, is this how Jesus would love?

It was an absolute privilege to chat with Rachael. Our hope is that all parties take this work seriously and that the end result is positive. Also-none of this would be happening without the courage of The Millstones and the victim survivors who have bravely told their stories.

Hey The Challenge verbal and psychological abuse can be just as damaging as physical abuse. You run ASK ads while allowing a grown woman (who is clearly unstable) to bully other cast members. That’s absolutely ridiculous. Laurel should be banned for this.

Look, if a pastor cheats on his wife: He should not be in ministry. It’s time to work in the private sector. I do believe he can be forgiven and restored to church fellowship. But if you crashed the company car, we ain’t giving you the keys again.

“Sometimes, a story unleashes, a huge spotlight turns on, and institutions panic,” Tchividjian said. “They make commitments to investigate not out of an earnest desire to get to the truth, but to protect themselves.” “What happens in this case?” he wondered. “Time will tell.”
