I can't believe that the HWA hasn't outright condemned generative AI. Why would an organisation that represents writers even consider supporting AI that steals from creative works?! It just doesn't make any sense. PS. Not a member, but still outraged.

If you didn’t write it, you’re not a writer. If you didn’t draw/sketch/sculpt/create it, you’re not an artist. Putting a microwave dinner into the oven doesn’t make you a chef. And in this case, the microwave dinner was stolen and pollutes the planet.
