This is shocking! I knew Daniel since he was a young kid. His parents sent him to stay at my home so he can train with my other SPICE students. Always a nice and polite kid! Just saw him at the Charlotte Chess Center. I am so sad. 😭 RIP Daniel! You will be missed!

A #chess tournament question: I played in an event where this happened: Round 1: white Round 2: black Round 3: awarded full point bye Round 4: black Round 5: black. The section was FIDE rated. I feel I shouldn't have had 3 games in a row as black, unless the BYE changes it.

I signed up for #chess endgame Ai. I haven't gotten a game against a human opponent yet, but I feel like the bots are way more challenging for the rating. What 1200 knows the theory to the Najdorf Poisoned Pawn AND the Danish Gambit as Black, but plays 1.c3 and 2.d4 as White??

One thing of Endgame (Hans's platform) that I do want to try out are the Battles. So many games with an Armageddon game if necessary... I'd really like to try that out. I can appreciate how the server keeps it organized. #chess
