Nikita Bier Maybe someone should start a housing as a service (HaaS for short) startup that lends people their homes in exchange for a monthly fee. I think that could solve the problem

If people want to play the game of saying "oh thats a legal contract between two adults" for something that is obviously predatory ask one of these two questions. 1 is respectable, 2 is salacious 1. Do you think usury is ok? 2. Do you think what Harvey Weinstein did was ok?

Frances is co-opted by the fiat establishment. Instead, I will seek insights from individuals who explicitly disclose their employment with blockchain companies and have laser eyes in all profile pictures to be free from the tyranny of a conflict of interest /s

I’ve just signed into law, the INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY MANUFACTURING INCENTIVES ACT, that eliminates all taxes (income, property, capital gains and import tariffs) on technology innovations, software and app programming, AI, computer and communications hardware manufacturing.

Talked to friend today. He works hard but can't afford down payment on modest home. Mid 30s, doesn't have kids and doesn't feel financially able to. Will inherit $ when they're very old but won't even need it then. Parents won't help at all now. Makes no sense, story is common

Here’s something I think about often. Making $32,000/year puts you in the top 1% of earners globally, but most Americans struggle to make that work.

When you take a wage, you're getting stability. Those companies that pay decent but offer zero stability? They're terrible workplaces that won't attract top talent. Who wants to get shit on all day for mid band pay?

Before social media, zero person-hours were wasted by society on ultimately meaningless societal whodunnits. Today, millions in aggregate person-hours are spent on *each* meaningless encounter. Hard not to think about the implications.

It's unreal how many mental hurdles people will go through to avoid the obvious conclusion that maybe, just maybe, we should properly fund the government rather than relying on the market for everything.

Can someone explain to me why you would bother to ask this question? It would be like me asking how many people in 2023 believe in the Jonestown philosophy. The answer is close to 0 but what could I possibly get from asking?

There are so many bad faith arguments from AI doomers and AI proponents. Can't we all assume that the person on the other side is a rational person until proven otherwise?

You don't own land. You own a bundle of rights to use land. The state has a monopoly on the legal use of violence, which is the only thing keeping other people from also using the land. You have to pay the state if you want that protection. Sorry! It's called society!

Lol I bet this guy owns a couple guns and fancies himself being able to fight off a trained militia with it. What we actually need to do is increase property taxes astronomically and decrease income taxes to 0. The best way to make money should not be asset appreciation.
