1. What is happening in Rafah is NOT a 'limited operation'. AlMawasi is NOT a 'humanitarian' or 'safe' area. In fact, the war on Gaza is escalating dramatically. Here are a few thoughts on how and why this is the case. A short🧵

I built something that might be able to help out anyone looking for an independent grocery store in Toronto.

Head to hosergrocerytracker.ca/map and enter your address (put toronto at the end so it doesn't send you somewhere else). It'll show you the closest stores to your home

It’s funny how “public” spaces can easily become un-public should the public decide to genuinely engage with them. This is the exact tactic used to cage in and kettle organizers defending long-established encampments for the unhoused

The directors of Yintah call out @hotdocs sponsor at their Canadian premiere:

'While we are grateful for the opportunity to show this film, we refuse to allow this venue to whitewash Scotiabank's reputation at home and abroad.'

Toronto Police officers appear to have lied on the stand to try and get a man wrongly convicted of murder.

Feels like we have to talk about it now.

Tonight is Passover Eve. On this night in 1943, the Nazis entered the Warsaw Ghetto. They were met with molotov cocktails, gunfire, and grenades from the Jewish resistance.

B'nai Brith Canada 1. That’s not the Main St Library.
2. ‘if I must die’ certainly doesn’t ‘glorify martyrdom’.
3. Refaat Alareer was murdered by the barbarous genocidal regime you are defending.
4. His words will live on. You’ll have to justify defending genocide.
5. You do not speak in my name.

This poem is the “inappropriate content” B’nai Brith insisted—and apparently convinced Toronto Public Library—must be removed from the library.

Refaat was a beloved poet, scholar, teacher who was assassinated by Israel in Gaza alongside his family.

May his memory be a blessing.
