We are saddened by the passing of Peter Lax of NYU Courant on May 16, 2025. As a highly esteemed applied mathematician, contributing to the fields of computational mathematics and PDEs, among many others, Dr. Lax was a SIAM member for over 30 years. nytimes.com/2025/05/16/sci…
